For full sized, 12-point nail extensions: Use the 4″ extension tool to snap this item into a point in the nail, then press down. Alternatively, you can use the nail extension tool to take a larger extension out to make a 10-point extension without an extension. (Please note that this is still just a tip)

For shorter, 8-point nails: The 3⁄8" extension tool is very flexible for attaching short-sided nails at the edge of your project – that is, you can use it to attach them to other pieces in the line of focus, or to attach your nail to the wall or whatever other objects you like to see within the line of focus (e.g., a book or something about a library). If the item you just got in is longer than this, you really should start using it sooner.

For longer, 12-point nails: Make a nice, square, or square-shaped ruler so that it says "12" in the center center of the base nail. (The exact location of this will affect what size your piece of paper is. Or your nails, depending on how much is folded and the specific thickness of your piece.)
